Creating Hope Among Nigerian Girls through Economic Enterprise (CHANGE) in 2 Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Slums!

Novel Association for Youth Advocacy (NAYA) registered with the corporate Affairs Commission in 2014, is a network of youth-led and youth-serving organizations working to create an enabling environment for improved health & well-being  and fosters empowerment for adolescent and youth through advocacy, networking, service delivery and campaigns with a view to creating a society where young people’s concerns, rights, and dignity are recognized and addressed by the government, individuals and institutions.

NAYA with support from Voice is implementing an empowerment grant titled “Creating Hope Among Nigerian Girls through Economic Enterprise (CHANGE)”. The project, which kicked off in the last quarter of 2022 aims to empower 16 out-of-of-school Adolescent Girls’ and Young Women (AGYW) facing exploitation, abuse, and/or violence Kubwa and Mpape urban slums of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

The community gate-keepers who could not contain their excitement  about the project worked jointly with NAYA to identify and select 16 AGYM using Vulnerability and Need Assessment tools (VNAT) to determine their eligibility and identify their areas of interest.
